NetEase Games just showed us what Sue Storm can do in Marvel Rivals, and it’s pretty interesting to see how they’ve translated her comic book powers into gameplay mechanics. The new trailer gives us a good look at how the Invisible Woman will work when she joins the game’s roster this week.

If you’ve read Fantastic Four comics or watched any of the movies, you’ll recognize a lot of her signature moves here – the force fields, invisibility, and defensive abilities are all present, but they’ve been adapted to fit a team-based hero shooter. Let’s break down exactly how Invisible Woman’s abilities work in Marvel Rivals and when can you play her.

Note: You can watch the Invisible Woman gameplay reveal here.

In Marvel Rivals, Invisible Woman is classified as a Strategist, which means she focuses on supporting her team while still having tools to defend herself. Her primary attack does double duty – it damages enemies while healing allies, making her an effective combat medic who can contribute to fights without sacrificing her support role.

One of the most interesting aspects of her kit is her mobility. Sue comes equipped with a double jump ability, which helps her reach high ground and escape dangerous situations. When things get too close for comfort, she can use her knockback ability to create space between herself and aggressive enemies.

As you might expect from her name, Invisible Woman can turn invisible during combat. However, this ability only works when she’s out of combat, making it more useful for repositioning and setting up plays rather than as a pure escape tool.

Her defensive capabilities really shine through her barrier ability. She can place protective force fields in front of allies, which not only block incoming damage but also act as aggro magnets, drawing enemy attention away from vulnerable teammates. This creates interesting tactical opportunities, as you can use the barriers both for protection and to manipulate enemy positioning.

The gameplay trailer shows off her ultimate ability, which creates a zone of invisibility. This field not only heals allies within its area but also makes them invisible, potentially setting up game-changing team plays.

Release Date and Additional Content

Invisible Woman will join the Marvel Rivals roster on January 10 at 1 AM PST, launching alongside Season 1: Eternal Darkness Falls. She’ll be released together with another Fantastic Four member, Mister Fantastic, giving players access to two members of Marvel’s First Family right from the season’s start.

The remaining Fantastic Four members, Human Torch and The Thing, are planned for release during the mid-season update, which should arrive approximately six to seven weeks after the season begins.

This update structure follows NetEase Games’ plan to have full seasons last around three months, with significant content drops marking the halfway point.

What makes Sue Storm’s arrival even more exciting is that she’ll launch with a special Malice skin variant, while Mister Fantastic will also receive his own unique skin named The Maker. These cosmetic options will give players ways to customize their favorite heroes right from day one.

With her mix of healing, protection, and tactical abilities, Invisible Woman looks set to be a versatile addition to Marvel Rivals’ support roster.

Her ability to both protect and enable her team while maintaining decent offensive capabilities should make her an interesting pick for players who enjoy a more strategic approach to team fights.
