Marvel Rivals has released a free winter skin for Jeff the Land Shark, and you’ve got until January 9 to grab it. The skin comes as part of the Winter Celebration event, and while it takes some time to unlock, the process is pretty straightforward. Let’s go through exactly what you need to do to unlock Jeff Cuddly Fuzzlefin Outfit and whether it’s worth your time.
The Cuddly Fuzzlefin skin gives Jeff the Land Shark a complete winter makeover. You’ll see him wearing a black ski jacket, yellow scarf, purple ski goggles, and white earmuffs. He’s even got some cozy white boots to complete the look. The best part? It’s completely free – you just need to put in the time to earn it.
To get the skin, you’ll need to collect 500 points during the Winter Celebration event. Here’s what you need to do:
First, you’ll need to collect Gold and Silver Frost tokens. You can only get these by playing the special “Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival” mode. In this mode, you’ll control Jeff and spray snowflakes around the Yggsgard garden to turn it into a winter wonderland.
Once you have your Frost tokens, head to the Decorate tab in the Winter Celebration page. You’ll see five different decorations you need to complete: Snowman, Ribbons, Christmas Tree, Giftboxes, and Snow. Each decoration needs two Gold Frost tokens to complete.
While you’re working toward the Jeff skin at 500 points, you’ll unlock other rewards too:
Cuddly Fuzzlefin Spray (100 Points) | All You Can Eat Emote (200 Points) | Cuddly Fuzzlefin Title (300 points) | How Ice Sculpting Works MVP animation (400 points) | he Cuddly Fuzzlefin Costume (500 points) |
The Winter Celebration event started on December 20, 2024, at 2 a.m. ET and runs until January 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET. After that, you won’t be able to get the skin anymore, so make sure to complete the event before then.
The main way to get Gold Frost is through the Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival mode. This special event mode has its own set of daily missions that reset every 24 hours.
The Cuddly Fuzzlefin skin is worth picking up for a few key reasons. First, it’s completely free – you just need to invest time, not money. The skin also comes with several bonus items along the way, including a spray, emote, title, and MVP animation. These extras add value to the time you’ll spend earning the skin.
From a gameplay perspective, the Winter Splash Festival mode you need to play is actually a nice change of pace from regular matches. You get to play as Jeff while decorating the map, which can be a refreshing break from tryharding in the competitive mode.
The main consideration is time. You’ll need to play regularly over the three-week event period to earn enough tokens. If you enjoy playing as Jeff or collect skins, the investment makes sense. However, if you rarely use Jeff or don’t have much time to play during the holiday season, you might want to focus on other aspects of the game.
Keep in mind that this is a limited-time skin – once the event ends, there’s no indication it will return. So if you think you might want to use it in the future, it’s better to get it now while it’s available.
