If you’re eager to get started, you can already check out the Godzilla footprints on the map near Shattered Span. These massive imprints give us a hint of what’s coming – and completing this early quest grants you 25,000 XP right now.
When Does Godzilla Come to Fortnite?
The Godzilla update launches on January 17, 2025, with the content expected to go live around 9:00 AM ET. This means you can start playing as Godzilla right after the update drops. The event runs until February 21, 2025, at 2:00 AM ET, giving you plenty of time to experience everything it offers.
How to Transform into Godzilla
During regular battle royale matches, there’s a chance that a special portal will appear somewhere on the map. While the exact portal locations aren’t confirmed yet, keep an eye on the eastern coastline of Shattered Span, where giant Godzilla footprints have already appeared. For the best chance of finding portals quickly, try landing on high ground to scan the area.
As Godzilla, you get three main abilities:
- Roar: Use this to spot nearby players
- Mighty Stomp Attack: Send other players flying
- Heat Ray: Destroy both players and buildings
Complete Godzilla Quests Now
You don’t have to wait until January 17 to start earning Godzilla-themed rewards. The first set of Monsterverse quests is already available. These quests are part of a questline that will fully unlock when Godzilla arrives, offering a total of 125,000 XP per questline.
When the event starts, your best bet is playing matches normally but staying aware of your surroundings. The portal can appear at any time, and focusing too much on finding it might leave you vulnerable to other players. Keep some mobility items handy – things like the Kinetic Blade or vehicles can help you reach the portal quickly when it appears.
For taking down Godzilla, the Rail Gun is your most reliable option. Pair it with Shield Bubbles for protection, and try to coordinate with other players. Whether you’re interested in the Battle Pass rewards or just want to stomp around as Godzilla, there’s something for everyone in this update.
