How to Play as Godzilla in Fortnite & All Abilities
Godzilla has finally made its way into Fortnite, and this time you can actually become the monster yourself. This isn’t just a simple Godzilla skin or emote – you’ll get to control Godzilla with all its signature moves from the movies, including the iconic atomic breath (called Heat-Ray in-game) that we’ve seen demolish entire cities in films like Godzilla vs. Kong.
Let’s break down everything you need to know about how to become Godzilla and use its abilities effectively in Fortnite.
How to Transform Into Godzilla in Fortnite
The transformation process is simple but requires quick action during your matches. You’ll need to watch for a special portal that appears randomly on the map. Only one player per match can become Godzilla, so you must be the first to reach and jump through the portal when it appears.
I haven’t had any luck finding one until now, but hopefully, I will get one soon!
All Godzilla Abilities in Fortnite
After transforming, you’ll have access to three powerful abilities that can help you dominate the match.
The Roar
The Roar serves as your tracking ability, revealing the location of nearby players when activated. You can use it to find enemies hiding in buildings or check if an area is safe before moving in. This ability is particularly useful when you think players are nearby but can’t pinpoint their exact location. It also works great for tracking down players who are trying to escape.
Mighty Stomp Attack
The Mighty Stomp Attack is your crowd control ability. When you use it, any players near you will be sent flying through the air. This attack is perfect for creating space between you and aggressive players or breaking up groups of enemies working together.
Heat-Ray
The Heat-Ray is your primary damage-dealing ability and the most devastating attack in your arsenal. This powerful beam can destroy both players and structures, making it effective at any range. Use it to demolish buildings where players are hiding or to apply pressure to multiple enemies at once. The Heat-Ray’s destructive power makes it particularly effective against players who try to build for protection.
Remember that other players will target you aggressively since you’re such a significant threat. They can target your weak spots for extra damage and collect fragments you drop for health and dash charges. I recommend that you be specifically careful of players using railguns as they will pose a significant threat to you.
Even if you don’t succeed in reaching the portal first, keep trying in your matches. Eventually, you’ll get your chance to rampage across the island as Godzilla, and the practice of spotting and reaching portals quickly will make you more effective when that opportunity comes.
