Getting Silver Frost in Marvel Rivals can feel confusing at first, but it’s actually pretty straightforward once you understand how it works. This guide breaks down exactly how to get Silver Frost in Marvel Rivals and what you can do with it during the Winter Celebration festivities.

How to Get Silver Frost in Marvel Rivals?

Silver Frost comes from completing specific event missions in Marvel Rivals. The event offers several ways to earn this currency through both standard missions and special challenges. Here are the main ways to get Silver Frost:

  • Event Missions: The quickest way to earn Silver Frost is through event-specific missions. You get 3 Silver Frost for completing tasks like finishing 5 matches in Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival or taking down 15 enemies in the event mode. These missions are pretty easy to complete just by playing the game normally.

  • Challenge Missions: The game also offers additional Silver Frost through challenge missions. These give you 2 Silver Frost for completing objectives with specific characters. For example, you can earn Silver Frost by dealing 10,000 damage using shields or taking 30,000 damage.

How to Use Silver Frost in Marvel Rivals?

Here’s the important part about Silver Frost – you can’t actually use it until you’ve unlocked decorations with Gold Frost first. Silver Frost works as a customization currency for the event card decorations.

Once you’ve used Gold Frost to unlock a decoration on your event card, Silver Frost lets you change how that decoration looks.

For example, after you unlock the Christmas tree decoration using Gold Frost, you can spend Silver Frost to choose from five different tree styles. It’s purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect your progress toward event rewards like the Cuddly Fuzzlefin costume or other permanent items.

This means you don’t need to stress too much about earning Silver Frost if you’re mainly interested in getting the event’s main rewards. Those come from progressing through the decoration levels using Gold Frost instead.

The Winter Celebration event runs until January 9th, giving you plenty of time to earn both currencies. Focus on getting Gold Frost first to unlock the decorations, then use your Silver Frost to customize them if you want to add your personal touch to the holiday card.

Remember that while Silver Frost lets you customize your decorations, it doesn’t count toward your progress for unlocking the event’s permanent rewards like sprays, emotes, or the special Cuddly Fuzzlefin costume.

Those rewards require decoration progress using Gold Frost, so make sure to complete the Gold Frost missions if you’re aiming for those items.
