In Fortnite Chapter 6, the Giant Turtle (also known as the Great Turtle) has become one of the most interesting unmarked locations to visit. Not just for its unique appearance, but also because it’s a great spot to get some early-game loot. Here’s exactly where to find it and what you can expect when you get there.
The Giant Turtle can be found in different places in different matches. While it might be a bit tricky to spot at first, just look for a massive turtle-shaped structure covered in moss and vegetation.
For your ease refer to the map attached below as we have marked the exact location for you:
When you arrive at the Giant Turtle, you’ll notice a few key things that make this spot worth visiting:
First up, there’s a guaranteed Elemental Chest on top of the turtle’s shell. These chests are particularly valuable because they can drop Boons and the Typhoon Blade, which can give you a significant advantage early in the match.
Besides the Elemental Chest, you’ll find several regular chests scattered around the area and on top of the turtle. To reach these, simply jump onto the turtle’s shell – you can climb it just like any other surface in the game.
Near the turtle’s head, there’s a Launch Pad that you can use for quick rotations or to escape if things get too heated. This makes it a particularly strategic landing spot since you have a reliable escape option.
An NPC named Ryuji often wanders around the Giant Turtle. He’s worth talking to for a couple of reasons:
The Giant Turtle location is particularly good for early-game looting because it’s relatively unknown compared to main POIs. After getting your initial loot here, you can easily rotate to Magic Mosses, one of the best landing spots in Chapter 6.
The turtle itself is indestructible and immune to bullet damage (don’t judge us for shooting at it!). While the turtle doesn’t move or interact with players, its location provides good cover and elevation advantage.
And if you need to make a quick exit, remember that Launch Pad near the head – it’s perfect for making a hasty retreat or rotating to your next destination.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet landing spot with decent loot or just want to check out one of Chapter 6’s most unique landmarks, the Giant Turtle is definitely worth a visit.
