Finding a good landing spot in Fortnite Chapter 6 can be tricky, especially with all the map changes. After spending time trying out different spots since Chapter 6 launched, I’ve noticed some locations work better than others.
Some give you mythic items, others are great for staying safe, and a few are perfect for getting into early fights. In this guide, I’ll walk you through each spot and explain exactly what you’ll find there, where to look for the best loot, and how to handle any challenges you might face.
The key to survival in Chapter 6 is picking a landing spot that matches your playstyle and gives you enough resources to make it to the late game. After landing at every named location multiple times, these five spots stand out for their consistent loot and the various advantages they offer. Here’s a quick overview of our top picks:
Landing at Nightshift Forest gives you access to some of the best loot in the game, but you need to know exactly what you’re doing. When dropping here, aim for the main temple area first. You’ll find two NPCs nearby – most importantly Bushranger, who’s crucial for getting the Mythic Vault key.
To make the most of this spot, here’s what you need to do: First, look for a Sprite in the area. Once you find one, take it to Bushranger near the main temple. Show them the Sprite, and they’ll give you the Mythic Vault key. The vault itself is just west of the main temple – look for stairs leading down, and you’ll find the vault door at the bottom.
Inside the vault, you’ll find the Typhoon Blade, which gives you both increased movement and strong melee damage. You’ll also get high-tier guns, plenty of ammo, and healing items. Just remember – the area around Bushranger and the vault gets busy early game, so consider waiting for the initial rush to die down before going for the vault.
Magic Mosses sits right in the middle of the map, making it perfect for almost any game strategy. When landing here, you’ll want to look for the main building clusters first. The central location means zone pulls rarely hit you too hard, and you can rotate pretty much anywhere.
The spot has enough chest spawns to gear up a full squad, though you might want to split up your landing spots within the area if playing with teammates. The terrain provides good cover for fights, and you’ll find plenty of natural covers during a battle.
Demon’s Dojo is where you go when you’re feeling confident in your combat skills. The main attraction here is the Night Rose Demon boss fight, but don’t rush in unprepared. Before engaging the boss, clear out the outer buildings first to get weapons and shields.
When you’re ready to take on Night Rose, here’s what to expect: The fight happens in two phases. You’ll need to damage Night Rose first, then focus on shooting the Demon Mask’s glowing eyes when it takes control. Keep moving to avoid fireballs and katana strikes. If you win, you’ll get the Mythic Void Mask with 30 uses and a Mythic SMG. Just remember to stock up on healing items before the fight – you’ll find plenty in the surrounding buildings.
Whiffy Wharf is your go-to spot for a quieter start. The location isn’t filled with loot like most other places, which means fewer players typically land here. You’ll find a decent spread of basic loot – enough to get you properly equipped without having to fight off half the lobby.
The coastal position means you’ve usually only got to watch one direction for enemies, and there is the great tortoise POI near by as well.
Seaport City is where you go to master the new movement mechanics. The urban environment is filled with buildings of different heights, perfect for practicing your parkour skills. When landing here, aim for the taller buildings first – they typically have better loot and give you a height advantage for spotting enemies.
The tight spaces between buildings create intense close-quarters combat situations, and you’ll need to master both building and the new movement mechanics to survive. Look for the zip lines connecting different buildings – they’re crucial for quick repositioning during fights.
Another spot that we really enjoyed was the lost lakes! Before jumping into any of these spots, always check the battle bus path. A perfect landing spot becomes much less ideal if it’s directly under the bus. Keep an eye on your glider height too – you want to be among the first to land at your chosen spot, but not so low that you can’t adjust if too many players are heading there.
Take some time in Team Rumble or other respawn modes to learn the layout of your preferred landing spot. Knowing exactly where the chests spawn and the fastest paths between buildings can give you a crucial advantage in those first few minutes.
And remember – don’t just copy someone else’s landing spot because it works for them. These locations each have their own learning curve and suit different playstyles. Try them all out and see which one feels right for you.
