Squirrel Girl is a backline duelist in Marvel Rivals who specializes in area control and consistent damage output. While she might be sitting in B tier right now, don’t let that fool you – in the right hands, she can be a real threat on the battlefield especially in lower tiers where players don’t know how to counter her properly.
Her simple kit makes her perfect for new players, with abilities that are easy to understand but still leave room for mastery.
If you’re just starting out in Marvel Rivals, Squirrel Girl is a great pick. Her acorn-based attacks are forgiving thanks to their splash damage, and her mobility lets you stay safe while dealing damage from range. She’s also a lot of fun to play – but that’s just our opinion!
Let’s break down everything you need to know about playing Squirrel Girl effectively, from her basic stats to advanced strategies that will help you climb the ranks.

Just like any other Duelist in Marvel Rivals playing Squirrel Girl effectively comes down to positioning and timing. Your main job is to stay behind your team and rain down acorns on enemies. The Burst Acorn might look basic, but it’s your bread and butter and you can hit enemies from surprisingly far away. The acorns bounce off surfaces before exploding, so you can actually hit enemies behind cover by bouncing shots off walls or the ground.
The key to success with Squirrel Girl is mastering her mobility. Tail Bounce lets you reach high ground, giving you perfect vantage points to fire those acorns on your enemies. You can double jump, then use Mammal Bond to reset the ability and jump again – it almost feels like flying. This mobility is crucial for staying alive since you’re pretty vulnerable if enemies get too close.
Speaking of staying alive, don’t try to fight up close even though you have a melee attack. Your acorns do plenty of damage at any range, and there’s no bonus for headshots, so focus on landing those explosive hits from a safe distance. The explosion won’t hurt you, so don’t worry about close-range shots if someone does get in your face.
Your Squirrel Blockade is perfect for setting up kills or saving yourself. When you see an enemy trying to escape or a healer supporting their team, charge up the blockade and trap them. Follow up with your acorns while they’re stuck – it’s an almost guaranteed elimination if your team helps focus the target. Remember you can use Mammal Bond to get a second Blockade right after the first one, which is especially powerful when coordinating with your team.
The Unbeatable Squirrel Tsunami ultimate is most effective in enclosed spaces where the squirrels can bounce off walls and hit enemies multiple times. Try to use it when enemies are grouped up or in narrow corridors. A great combo is using Mammal Bond first, throwing two Squirrel Blockades to lock enemies in place, then unleashing your ultimate while they’re trapped.
Squirrel Girl’s biggest weakness is her lack of close-range options. While her acorns are powerful, they’re easier to dodge up close, and she has no reliable escape if you can get in her face.
She’s also very vulnerable while using Tail Bounce since she has a predictable trajectory. If you see her use both Tail Bounce and Mammal Bond, that’s your chance to strike since she’ll have no escape options left.
