The rumors were true – Marvel Rivals has officially confirmed the Fantastic Four are joining the roster. Through a tweet posted today, Marvel Rivals announced that Marvel’s First Family is coming to the game, with a full reveal trailer scheduled for January 6th at 8:00 AM.

With previous leaks already giving us hints about their roles and abilities, let’s break down everything we know about Marvel’s First Family entering the fray.

When Are The Fantastic Four Coming to Marvel Rivals?

While there’s no official release date yet, all signs point to the Fantastic Four arriving with Season 1. The current Season 0 Battle Pass ends on January 10th, which is likely when Season 1 will begin. The timing makes sense since NetEase Games just announced a full character showcase trailer dropping on January 6th.

The characters might all be released at once when Season 1 starts, or they could be spread throughout the season. This staggered release approach would be similar to how other hero shooters handle new character launches, giving players time to learn each hero separately.

Character Roles of the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals

Before we get into the officially revealed content on January 6th, let’s look at what role each character might play based on information from game file leaks.

  • The Thing looks to be your classic Vanguard. If you need someone to lead the charge and soak up damage, Ben Grimm’s rocky exterior makes him a natural fit.
  • For those of you who prefer dealing damage, both Mister Fantastic and Human Torch are showing up as Duelists in the leaked files. Reed’s stretching powers could let you attack from unexpected angles, while Johnny’s flame abilities seem focused on controlling space.
  • If you’re more interested in tactical play, Invisible Woman is listed as a Strategist. Sue’s force fields and invisibility powers fit perfectly with this role – you’ll probably be helping your team control the battlefield while providing protection and support.

Just remember – while these combat roles make sense for each character’s powers, they’re still based on leaks. You might want to wait for the January 6th trailer before getting too attached to any particular playstyle. The final versions could look a bit different when they actually hit the game.

The timing of the Fantastic Four’s arrival feels deliberate, coming right after a season focused on Doctor Doom. Their addition could signal new storylines and possibly even more classic Fantastic Four content down the line.
