If you’ve been keeping up with the game, you might have noticed some big changes coming with the Noxus 2025 update. One of the biggest ones is something called “Feats of Strength.” It’s replacing those old First Blood and First Tower gold bonuses we’re all used to, and I wanted to break it down in a way that makes sense.
Think of Feats of Strength like a mini-game within your regular League match. Instead of just getting a pile of gold for early-game achievements, you’re now working towards unlocking some pretty interesting boot upgrades for your whole team. It’s kind of like Noxus’s way of rewarding teams who prove themselves early – which makes sense, given how much that region values strength and combat prowess.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through exactly how these Feats of Strength
work in LoL, what you get for winning them, and how to make the most of the rewards.
Note: The stats for Feats of Strength were updated with recent hotfix on January 16, 2025.
Feats of Strength is a new system in League of Legends that replaces the old gold rewards. There are three different Feats your team can get:
The first team to get two of these Feats wins the overall contest. It’s that simple!
Winning Feats gives your team two main benefits:
As soon as your team wins two Feats of Strength, everyone on your team gets a free upgrade to their Tier 2 boots. Don’t worry about timing – if you already have boots, they’ll upgrade right away. If you buy boots later, they’ll come with the upgrade automatically.
Here’s what each boot type gets:
Even Cassiopeia, who can’t wear boots, gets something – her movement speed passive becomes stronger, giving her 6 speed per level instead of 4.
The second benefit is even cooler – once you have two legendary items, you can spend 750 gold to upgrade your boots even further. Each boot type gets its own special ability:
Name of Boots | Stats |
![]() Gunmetal Greaves | • Costs 750 gold • +10% Attack Speed • +5 Movement Speed • Special Effect: Hitting champions gives you 15% speed (melee) or 10% speed (ranged) that fades over 2 seconds |
![]() Crimson Lucidity | • Costs 750 gold • +10 Ability Haste • +5 Movement Speed • Special Effect: Using abilities, summoner spells, or buffing allies gives you 10% speed (8% for ranged) for 4 seconds |
![]() Spellslinger’s Shoes | • Costs 750 gold • +18 Magic Penetration • +5 Movement Speed • Special Effect: Additional 8% Magic Penetration (works with both flat and percentage bonuses) |
![]() Armored Advance | • Costs 750 gold • +10 Armor • +5 Movement Speed • Special Effect: Taking physical damage gives you a shield of 10-120 (based on level) + 4% max health for 4 seconds (15s cooldown) |
![]() Chainlaced Crushers | • Costs 750 gold • +10 Magic Resistance • +5 Movement Speed • Special Effect: Taking magic damage gives you a shield of 10-120 (based on level) + 4% max health for 4 seconds (15s cooldown) |
![]() Swiftmarch | • Costs 750 gold • +70 Movement Speed • Special Effect: Increases total movement speed by 4% (multiplies with other speed bonuses) |
![]() Forever Forward | • Costs 750 gold • +10 Movement Speed • Special Effect: While out of combat, increases total movement speed by 10% (multiplies with other speed bonuses) |
Feats of Strength adds a new layer of strategy to the early game without making matches too one-sided. The boot upgrades are strong enough to matter but not so strong that they automatically win you the game. Plus, having different options for different types of champions means everyone gets something useful out of winning Feats.
Remember, the key is working with your team to secure two Feats as quickly as you can – whether that’s through getting kills, taking towers, or controlling those jungle monsters.
