The trailer gives us a good look at three main characters from the Defense Force making their way to Fortnite. Kafka Hibino, the series protagonist, will be available as a skin with his standard Defense Force uniform. More excitingly, players will also get access to his Kaiju form through what appears to be a transformation emote.

While Epic Games hasn’t announced an exact release date, the collaboration is expected to arrive in the Item Shop very soon, likely during the next shop reset.
This timing aligns with the current Chapter 6 Season 1’s Japanese mythology theme and follows recent collaborations with Godzilla and Hatsune Miku.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Kaiju No. 8 tells the story of Kafka Hibino, a member of the Defense Force who gains the ability to transform into a kaiju (monster) while fighting to protect humanity. The manga began in 2020 and received an anime adaptation in 2024, quickly becoming a fan favorite for its unique take on the monster-fighting genre.
This marks another significant anime collaboration for Fortnite, following successful partnerships with series like Naruto, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball, and Jujutsu Kaisen. The addition of Kaiju No. 8 continues Epic Games’ trend of bringing popular anime into their ever-expanding gaming universe.
