Finding Earth Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 6 can be quite tricky since they work differently from other Sprites on the island. Unlike their Water and Air counterparts that move around freely, Earth Sprites stay in fixed positions and offer a unique trading system that can get you some seriously good loot. Here’s everything you need to know about finding and using Earth Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1.
Note: Epic Games made adjustments to Earth Sprites on December 16, now the total number of Earth Sprites that spawn are five instead of two.
Earth Sprites are much harder to track down compared to other Sprites in Chapter 6. In each match, only five Earth Sprites spawn on the map, and their locations change every game. While there are multiple possible spawn points across the island, you’ll need to check several spots to find them.
Based on our experience in the game, here are some spawn locations where we were able to find Earth Sprites in different matches:
Near Magic Mosses, you’ll find a potential spawn point just north of the small pond that sits northeast of Lost Lake. The Earth Sprite typically appears just off the path on the northern side.
Another reliable spawn point is east of Masked Meadows – look for a circular cluster of trees northwest of Hopeful Heights. The Earth Sprite often appears right in the middle of this formation.
You can also use Sprite Shrines to mark nearby Sprites on your map, though honestly, this method doesn’t always work great for Earth Sprites specifically.
Once you find an Earth Sprite, you’ll notice it just sits there – you can’t pick it up or move it like the other Sprites. Instead, these creatures want to trade with you. The process is pretty straightforward: walk up to the Sprite, select the item you want to trade and interact with it.
The Earth Sprite will eat whatever you give it and spit out a new weapon after a few seconds. You’ll usually get a higher tier weapon in return, but there’s no way to know exactly what you’ll get – it’s completely random.
Here’s the important part: think carefully about what you trade. Once you give something to an Earth Sprite, you can’t get it back. Don’t trade away your best weapon unless you’re ready to lose it. After trading, you’ll need to wait a bit before you can use that same Earth Sprite again.
If you’re playing with a squad, here’s a helpful tip – each member of your team can interact with the same Earth Sprite to get their own reward. This makes Earth Sprites particularly valuable for team-based strategies.
Finding Earth Sprites takes some time since they spawn in different places each match, but getting a high-tier weapon makes it worth the effort. Just remember to be smart about what you trade – you might not want to give up your only good weapon for a random replacement.
