Everything from cool graphics to its growing roster makes it a great game to play but at the same time while everyone is enjoying this game the players on PS4 feel a bit left out.

Is Marvel Rivals Available on PS4?

Unfortunately, Marvel Rivals is not available on PlayStation 4. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and is specifically designed for current-generation hardware, making it exclusively playable on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This might be disappointing news for PS4 owners, but there’s a good reason behind this decision.

The game’s graphics require significant power and we can confirm this as even on good PCs the game sometimes stutters.

PC players are not alone though, even on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, some players have reported occasional performance issues like consistent FPS drops. This indicates that the game would likely struggle significantly on PS4’s older hardware.

Will Marvel Rivals Come to PS4 in the Future?

We asked about PS4 plans in the Marvel Rivals Discord community, and the responses were funny nonetheless – most messages were met with worried faces, skull emojis, laughs, and X marks from other members, suggesting the community doesn’t see a PS4 release as likely. Even the moderators tended to dodge these questions, neither confirming nor denying future possibilities.

While some Unreal Engine 5 games like Fortnite and The First Descendant have made their way to PS4, the chances of Marvel Rivals coming to PS4 appear slim. NetEase Games hasn’t really made any official announcement and honestly, we don’t see it happening anytime soon.

The development team is currently focused on improving the game’s performance on existing platforms and adding new content probably a character every 45 days as they promised. Jokes apart! The technical challenges of downscaling the game’s visual effects and maintaining smooth gameplay on older hardware make a PS4 port a complicated undertaking.
