After the success of Arcane Season 2, Riot Games is bringing significant changes to several champions in the upcoming Patch 14.24. The most notable update is Viktor’s visual and gameplay update (VGU), alongside meaningful adjustments to other champions. Let’s dive into what these changes mean for the game.

Viktor’s Major Rework

The Machine Herald is receiving substantial updates to his kit while maintaining his core identity. The most exciting change is to his ultimate ability, Chaos Storm:

  • New mechanic: When champions die within the storm’s radius, it grows 40% larger and lasts 3 additional seconds
  • This effect can stack up to six times, potentially creating massive zone control in teamfights

His other abilities are also getting tweaked:

  • Q (Siphon Power): Shield scaling improved from 27-105 to 40-115
  • W (Gravity Field): Slow strength increased from 30-45% to 33-45%

Rell: The Iron Maiden Buffed

Rell is receiving across-the-board buffs to improve her tankiness and combat presence:

  • Base health increased: 610 → 640
  • Passive resist steal: 2% → 3% per stack
  • W shield: 15-115 (12% tHP) → 25-125 (13% tHP)

Master Yi: Critical Strike Rework

A significant adjustment to Yi’s Alpha Strike (Q):

  • Critical strike damage increased to 156.25% (186.25% with Infinity Edge)
  • New damage formula: total damage × (75% × (total Crit damage – 1))

Warwick: Mixed Changes

The Blood Hunter is getting some interesting adjustments:

  • Base AD reduced: 65 → 63
  • Q cast range increased: 350 → 365
  • Blood Hunt passive attack speed duration: 1s → 2.5s

Cassiopeia

  • Feats of Strength now properly compensates for her inability to buy boots

  • Arena mode maintains 0.7× multiplier

Aurora

  • Minor tooltip fix for W ability movement speed values

Aegis of the Legion

  • Cost reduced: 1200g → 1100g
  • Armor decreased: 30 → 25
  • Magic Resist reduced: 30 → 25

Unending Despair

  • Recipe completely reworked: Chain Vest + Kindlegem + Ruby Crystal + 800g (2800g) → Aegis of the Legion + Giant’s Belt + 800g (2800g)
  • Health increased: 350 → 400
  • Armor substantially reduced: 60 → 25
  • Magic Resist added: 0 → 25
  • Drain Cooldown improved: 5s → 4s
  • Drain Base Damage rebalanced: 30-50 linear → 8-15 linear

Heartsteel

  • Damage formula adjusted: 80 (+12 bonus HP from items) → 70 (+6 bonus HP from every source)

Warmog’s Armor

  • Recipe changed: Giant’s Belt + Winged Moonplate + Crystalline Bracer + 800g (3300g) → Giant’s Belt + Giant’s Belt + Crystalline Bracer + 700g (3300g)
  • Innate Movement Speed removed: 4% → 0%
  • Out of Combat Movement Speed removed: 4% → 0%
  • Out of Combat total HP Healing reduced: 5% → 3% per second
  • Out of Combat bonus HP Threshold increased: 1500 → 2000
  • Out of Combat Cooldown extended: 6s → 8s
  • NEW Effect: Grants 12% increased health from items (activates immediately, contributes to 2000 health threshold)

Bloodletter’s Curse (NEW)

  • Recipe: Haunting Guise + Fiendish Codex + 900g = 3050g
  • Stats:
    • Ability Haste: 10
    • Health: 350
    • Ability Power: 55
  • Unique Passive:
    • Magic damage to champions grants 5% magic penetration for 6s
    • Stacks up to 6 times for 30% total magic penetration
    • Item and rune damage excluded from stack generation
    • Single cast limited to one stack every 0.3s

Teleport Summoner Spell Rework

  • Channel Duration shortened: 4s → 3s
  • Post-channel behavior changed: Instant blink → Untargettable dash
  • New movement mechanics:
    • Base: 1000 speed with 5s maximum travel time (5,000 unit cap)
    • Upgraded: 4500 speed with 4s maximum travel time (18,000 unit cap)
  • Base version now targets minions and wards
  • Cooldown adjustments:
    • Base reduced: 360s → 300s
    • Upgraded changed: 330-240s linear 1-10 → 300-240s linear 1-7
  • Currently maintains channel through damage

Rune System Updates

  • Conqueror adjustment:
    • Repeat Cast Instance Lockout reduced: 5 → 4
  • New runes confirmed for both Domination and Sorcery trees (details pending)

  • Crown of Carnage (Epic Monster Enhancement):
    • Provides a 25% increased effect from all Epic Monster rewards
    • This amplification affects all bonuses from objectives like Dragon, Baron, and Herald
    • Strengthens team’s objective control value
  • False Life (Death Prevention System):
    • Grants an additional 40 gold on champion takedowns
    • Activates a 180-second death prevention window
    • During this window, your first death is prevented:
      • Instead of dying, you enter a 5.5-second stasis state
      • Automatically teleport to your team’s spawn point after stasis
      • Your would-be killer receives 1 Bloody Petal and 100 gold as compensation
      • Normal kill rewards are not granted to the enemy
  • Bloody Petals (Team-Wide Enhancement):
    • Triggered by harvesting Blood Roses on the map
    • Benefits extend to your entire team upon collection
    • Rewards include:
      • Experience points for team-wide level progression
      • Adaptive Force to enhance combat capabilities
      • Strategic objective that encourages map control and team coordination
