Fortnite: How to Wall Kick

The wall kick is pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. You’re basically going to bounce off walls to change direction or get some extra height. Let’s break down exactly how Wall Kick works in Fortnite.

How to Wall Kick in Fortnite?

First things first – you need to understand that wall kicks work from the side. Stand next to a wall and look parallel to it. Not straight at it, but alongside it. Jump once to get in the air, then tap jump again when you touch the wall. That’s your basic wall kick.

The direction you hold while kicking really changes how it works. Hold forward, and you’ll launch forward. Hold back, you’ll push away from the wall. Don’t hold any direction, and you’ll just go straight up. Simple as that.

The timing can be tricky at first. Here’s what usually works best – jump toward the wall, but wait until you actually feel your character touch it before hitting jump again. If you press too early, you’ll just fall. Too late, and you’ll slide down. The animation is pretty clear – there’s no mistaking a good wall kick.

Once you’ve got the basic kick down, try stringing them together. Find two walls close to each other. Jump at one wall, kick-off, then immediately kick off the opposite wall. You can keep this going as long as you have walls to work with.

This move really shines when you mix it with other mechanics. Try kicking into a wall scramble, or using it after a slide. Each combination feels a bit different, and finding what works for you is part of the fun.

WhyWall Kick is Not Working?

If you’re having trouble, it’s usually one of these things:

  • Running straight at the wall instead of coming at it from the side
  • Pressing jump too quickly before hitting the wall
  • Not holding a direction while kicking
  • Trying to kick off surfaces that are too angled or irregular

Remember, wall kicking is just another tool in your movement kit. Sometimes building or running is still the better choice. But when you need to change direction fast or get some unexpected height, wall kicks are hard to beat.
