Fortnite’s latest update adds Godzilla-themed content to the game, starting with a simple but rewarding quest. Finding Godzilla’s footprints takes just a few minutes and rewards you with 25,000 XP. The quest might seem straightforward, but knowing the exact location and best approach saves time and helps avoid unnecessary confrontations with other players.
This guide covers everything about finding and reaching the Godzilla footprints location in Fortnite.
Head to the eastern coastline near Shattered Span (formerly known as Shining Span). The location is marked by a destroyed bridge, making it easy to spot from above while gliding. The footprints are located on the beach area – they’r four massive impressions in the sand that lead directly into the water. I have even marked the exact location for Godzilla footprints on the map above.
Drop straight toward the eastern coastline of Shattered Span – you can actually spot these enormous footprints from the Battle Bus if you’re looking carefully. The beach area stands out, especially with the broken bridge nearby. Landing directly at the prints usually works best, but when half the lobby seems to have the same idea, you might want to adjust your approach.
Also, there are quite a few Chests in the location so landing there is not a bad idea at all. Usually a Jeep spawns next to these footprints so it can come in handy if you want to quickly rotate to some other POI after that.
The process is straightforward – just walk up to any of the footprints. No interaction button or special action is needed. Once you get close enough, the quest completes automatically and awards 25,000 XP. After completion, you can either continue your match or leave if you’re only there for the quest.
This footprint quest serves as an introduction to the upcoming Godzilla event. Starting January 17, players will get access to more Monsterverse content, including the chance to transform into Godzilla. While it’s unclear if this current quest will count toward the upcoming Godzilla mini-battle pass, the XP reward makes it worth completing regardless.
