Fortnite is currently down for v33.30 update maintenance. All game modes including Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and Ballistic are inaccessible while Epic Games performs the update. The servers went offline at 4 AM ET (09:00 UTC) and are expected to be back online around 6:30 AM ET (11:30 UTC).

Is There a Fix for Current Maintenance?

For the current v33.30 update maintenance on January 2025, there isn’t a fix or workaround since this is a planned server downtime for updating the game. You simply need to wait until the maintenance period ends around 13:30 UTC.

Once the servers are back up, here’s what you need to do to get back into the game:

  • First, make sure your game client is updated to the latest version (v33.30). Your game should automatically update if you have auto-updates enabled. If not, you’ll need to update through your platform’s store or launcher manually.
  • If you try to launch the game and get an error saying your client is outdated, just restart your game launcher. This usually triggers the update to start downloading. For console players, check your downloads section to make sure the update is installing.

Don’t worry if you can’t log in right away when the servers come back online. A lot of players try to get in at the same time, so you might see a queue. This is normal and usually clears up pretty quickly.

If you’re still having trouble after the maintenance ends and you’ve updated your game, try a quick restart of your device. This often helps clear any connection issues that might pop up after a major update.

Remember, trying to find workarounds or fixes during maintenance won’t help – the servers are completely offline for updating. The best thing to do is just wait it out and make sure you’re ready with the latest version when everything comes back online.

When Will Fortnite Be Back Up?

Epic hasn’t confirmed the time for the servers to be back up but since it is not a major update – we believe the update should be live within 2-3 hours.

Remember that once the servers are back online, you might experience some queue times as millions of players try to log in simultaneously. This is normal, and the queues usually clear up within an hour after the servers are restored.
