Fortnite Chapter 6 Trailer Teases Japan-Themed World, Godzilla & Weapons
Epic Games just dropped the trailer for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, showing off a fresh take on the battle royale with Japanese mythology and modern elements. Let’s break down what’s new in the upcoming season, launching December 1, 2024.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Trailer Breakdown
A New World Inspired by Japan
The trailer shows a completely redesigned map mixing traditional Japanese elements with modern touches. There’s a massive Mount Fuji in the background, though it looks like it’ll be outside the playable area. A Japanese temple stands as one of the main locations you can visit, along with a Neo Tokyo-style city area complete with bullet trains zipping around.
The environment brings some nice variety – you’ve got modern bridges and buildings on one side, and peaceful flower gardens on the other. It’s definitely different from what we’ve seen before in Fortnite.
Boss Fights and Characters
The biggest addition (literally) has to be Godzilla. The trailer confirms it’s not just a skin – you’ll actually face off against the monster on the map. That’s not all though – there are several other bosses with Japanese themes:
- A giant samurai
- A massive turtle (called Aspidochelone) carrying an entire island on its back
- An Oni-themed boss that looks pretty tough
Baymax from Big Hero 6 is also joining the game. You can do his signature fist-bump “Balala” move, which is a nice touch for fans of the movie.
New Weapons and Items
The katana is making a comeback in Fortnite Chapter 6, which makes perfect sense with the Japanese theme. There’s also what looks like a new mythic weapon that lets you throw fireballs and gives you extra health. It comes in two versions – one with orange flames and another with purple ones.
The trailer also shows some new creatures bouncing around the map. They look friendly and might give you health when you interact with them, kind of like the wildlife we’ve had in previous seasons.
Those floating purple islands behind the giant turtle might mean Kevin The Cube is coming back in some form. We also might get Paper Bomb Kunai as weapons, though that’s not confirmed yet.
