The inaugural League Awards 2024 just wrapped up, marking a major milestone for League of Legends esports. While this first ceremony kept things relatively simple, it managed to celebrate everything from jaw-dropping plays to outstanding talent across the global LoL scene.

Before we dive into it we want to take a moment and thank two of the greatest faces in LoL – Sjokz and Caedrel for hosting the show and making it fun! Now, let’s dive into the highlights and winners that made this event special.

T1 and Faker Dominated the Major Categories

It’s no surprise that T1 and Faker walked away with some of the biggest honors of the night. After their incredible Worlds 2024 victory, T1 secured the Team of the Year award. Faker, living up to his “GOAT” status, claimed the prestigious Player of the Year award, receiving overwhelming support from both the panel and community voters.

One of Faker’s standout moments also earned recognition – his masterful Sylas play against BLG in Finas that took home Play of the Year. Not to be outdone, his teammates made their mark too, with Zeus winning Escape of the Year for an incredible play against TES, and Oner claiming Steal of the Year for his clutch moment against G2.

Regional Stars at League Awards 2024

Each major region saw its stars recognized:

  • LCK: Chovy earned LCK Player of the Year, continuing to prove himself as one of the most mechanically gifted mid-laners.
  • LPL: Bin took home LPL Player of the Year and we are not shocked – LET’S GO GIGABIN!
  • LEC: Caps secured LEC Player of the Year, maintaining his reputation as the Western GOAT.
  • LCS: Inspired claimed LCS Player of the Year.

The minor regions weren’t forgotten either, with GAM Esports’ Levi winning Minor Region Star of the Year, recognizing his impact on the Vietnamese scene.

Fresh Faces and Content Creation

FlyQuest’s Massu earned Rookie of the Year, marking an impressive debut season. The content creation scene saw several winners:

  • TheBausffs won Community Creator of the Year
  • Tolkin claimed Esports Creator of the Year
  • The NNO Streamer Tournament Cup got recognized as Creator Event of the Year

Broadcast and Content Excellence

The production side of League esports received its due recognition:

  • Laure Valée won Broadcast Talent of the Year
  • T1’s documentary “How T1 Defied All Odds | T1 Rose Together” earned Content Piece of the Year
  • Riot’s Season 2024 Cinematic “Still Here” won Best Riot Release of the Year
